Graduation

Graduation was an exciting milestone for Jaxton. The eight graduates at Oak Farm are all such talented and incredible kids. That will go far and do amazing things in their futures. It was crazy to see Jaxton up there, our oldest baby, graduating and moving on with his life. How can that possibly be? Cooper and Kay were both impacted by the graduation ceremony. When I looked over, Kaylee was crying, she loves Jaxton so very much. And Cooper looks up to him as well. They have a special bond and I hope it continues even after he leaves home. Congratulations Jaxton! He has so many mentors and role models here at Oak farm. We are so grateful to all of them for their impact on Jaxton’s life.   Congrats graduates!!

All the feels!

High School Projects

Capstone

As a senior, Jaxton had a capstone project that took half the school year to complete. He decided to track website development for businesses to see how a website can increase sales. He got to know his hairstylist who did his perms and haircuts, Layla, and she is from somewhere outside the United States. She currently had no website and did all of her business through phone calls. Jaxton asked her permission which she granted and he created a website for her hair styling with links and scheduling online. He was able to track the data from website views and clicks and analyze that data to present a thorough project of research. It was a large scale project at the college level capacity and he did an amazing job.

High School Art & Language

The high school had some very large projects at the end of the school year. They had an art and creative project to interpret one vocabulary word. Of course the kids went all out with their creativity and innovation. See all their great artwork below.

NHD

National History Day has also been a big deal in our house.  Cooper & Pierceton prepared a documentary on big pharma and placed at the state competition.  Jaxton entered another website about the development of transportation in the state of Indiana and won a $500 prize.  Great work boys!!

Gnometown Brewery

We took our management team to Gnometown brewery to actually make our own beer. They walked us through the process and all of the ingredients and we got to do it with our own hands. It was almost like a giant teabag with barley inside.  The flavors, come out of the giant teabag into the boiling water to give the liquid flavor. It was a fascinating process to make. We created labels for our 20 year Simplx anniversary and put the labels on the bottles once the beer was ready. Then of course we bottled it and shared it at our Simplx Summer party.
