Thanksgiving 2025

We hosted our Annual Thanksgiving gathering, complete with a full feast, and lots of yummy pies for the pie contest.  The next day we continued our tradition of ice skating downtown at the outdoor rink.  We brought a couple friends along with us.  Lots of fun family time this week!

Grandparents Day 2025

Grandparents Day was extra special this year, having 2 sets of grandparents and a whole slew of cousins come to visit.  We put together a whole rotating schedule for Grandma, Gramps, Melissa, and each cousin to visit all 5 kids at Oak Farm. Even Jaxton was home to attend Grandparents Day at the high school.  They got a glimpse into our kids' school, their daily life there, and the joys they experience in good old Indiana.  What an amazing Grandparent's Day to remember.

Grandparents & Cousins Visit from Utah

Grandma & Grandpa Hutchinson came for a visit with Melissa & most of her family.  They came for the week of Grandparent's Day so they could participate in that and be with us for a week near Thanksgiving.  I was surprised that Melissa and her kids could come!!  Dillon, Spencer, Bella & Lincoln.  Marcos stayed behind for work and Amanda is in Argentina on a mission, but the rest of them came!!  And Dillon got a ticket late because he did not want to miss out.  I am so grateful they made the trip.  It means so much to me that they would come.  It's not cheap, and its across the country.  I am so grateful to have my family here in my neck of the woods :-)

Cousins took a little bit of time to warm up to each other; but it was really good to build those relationships.  Since we don't have a guest room, the Theater Room became a bedroom for several, while some cousins slept in cousins rooms.  It was tight with everyone, but that's the best way for a visit.  I feel so much love from my parents and my sister.  I feel that we live so far removed from each other, that my world is so foreign to them, and their's is so foreign to me.  When we go out to visit Utah, I try to step in their world a little bit, to learn about their lives and their routines and their day to days.  And this time, I got to share a little bit of my world, my day to day, and our crazy lives in Indiana.  They got a glimpse of that.  It was a really good week and I am very grateful for all of them.

We did take a trip to Grabill because they were all so fascinated by the Amish.  LOL.  We visited the Amish flea market, saw lots of buggies and enjoyed lunch together in Amish Town.
