Owen & His Buddies

Owen has buddies at school that he has really connected with. This summer the parents have been able to connect and get the boys together. It’s really fun for these little guys to have each other and I hope they have each other for many years at Oak Farm!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Nate and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary on July 2! How is it possible that it’s been 18 years! Oh great! I love that man to pieces and could not imagine life without him. He has brought so much joy to my life. Happy anniversary to us! And many more to come!

Fireworks 2022

It’s becoming tradition that we go purchase our own fireworks and put on a show over our pond. This is the second year we have done that and all the kids have been looking forward to it all day! The kids went with dad to the firework shop and since it was the Fourth of July afternoon everything was significantly discounted. They got a whole bunch of stuff to set off. The show was fantastic! Sparklers were fun for the Littles and the weather was perfect!

Fourth of July

We hosted the Fourth of July at our house again this year. Almost the entire Routsong Family was able to attend. Austin Gregory is in Chile on a mission, Madison Owen is in Mississippi, and Mike Routsong was at work for the morning. Everyone else was there which was really exciting. We swim in the pond, had barbecued hotdogs and hamburgers, had a corn hole tournament, and dug for coins and a large pile of sawdust. Lots of fun with family.

Marching Band Parade

Jaxton was in the Garett marching band for the Garrett heritage days parade.  Since he’s percussion, marimba, he didn’t have an instrument to carry for the parade, so they had him holding the banner up front. The kids and I went to watch the parade and we sat at the front of the start. It was a great parade! The kids were hot and sweaty and tired and wanting to go home, until the parade began. Then they got all kinds of candy and goodies thrown at them from all kinds of different floats and vehicles. They ended up absolutely loving it!  The GarrettBand was fantastic too! Afterwards we enjoyed root beer floats to support the Garett marching band. I think it was a first for some of the kids to ever have a root beer float and it was a success! Go Jax!

Cousin Time!

Nate‘s brother Nick and his wife Carissa and their family came from Arizona to stay with us for a week. They came to visit with grandma and Nick’s family out here in Indiana. Since grandma‘s house next door is smaller than it used to be, they stayed with us instead. Which actually worked out perfectly because the kids got to spend nonstop time together. Kaylee and Aria are a couple years apart in age but they hit it off right away. Such fun cousins! Dawson and Kipton have all the same interests. They both play piano, love Pokémon and love Minecraft. Their third son, Cameron, is one year younger than Owen and it took them a little bit of time before they could buddy up and play. But towards the end of the week they were best buds. Little Alena is two and she was a sweet little thing. She loved the puppy and knew that it was her job to feed him breakfast lunch and dinner. It was fun to spend time with Nick and Carissa and get updated on all that they’re doing Back in Arizona.

Pine Valley Swim Meet

Cooper Kaylee Tyson and Nathan all participated in the Pine Valley swim meet. This was a super fun meet with tons and tons of people! Jaxton and Owen watched and supported their siblings. The kids did fabulous and had a lot of fun!
