Happy Happy Birthday Jaxton!!! We had a "Dog" theme birthday party at our house for our little one-year-old. I made a puppy-dog chocolate frosting, sugar free banana cake from a Clifford template. His first word was dog ("gog...gog"), so that became the theme! Grandma & Grandpa Hutchinson came, and the Giraldi family. Audrey Glauser, Jaxton's little playmate came with her family. Jaxton got a tool set, a vacuume, a tent with tunnels, a truck and some new books. ***
We had practiced blowing out candles before the party so that he would have somewhat of an idea of what to do when the flame was putin front of him. And yes, he did blow out his candle (with a little help)! At first he wasn't so sure about the big dog sitting on his high chair tray, but immediately he knew it was a dog. "Gog-dog-gog!" Once he tasted the frosting, he realized it was a special treat, and started digging a hole in the cake and shoving mouthfulls in. He loved it! I learned quick that a chocolate frosting cake for a 1 year old makes a huge mess!!! Oh well, fun memories!!!
