Tae Kwon Do

Amanda & Dillon in Utah have been taking Karate classes. It inspired us to look into karate here in Fort Wayne. I located a Tae Kwon Do studio that does a free private lesson for interested individuals. So we decided to go for it, not knowing how the boys would like it. Well "like it" was a huge understatement. They absolutely loved it! The instructor was so great with them, getting down on their level and teaching them to listen, show respect, and let them use their arms and legs in Tae Kwon Do movements. They punched a giant punch bag, kicked and punched, stood at attention, and bowed with respect.

At the end, the instructor brought out some wood. He taught the kids to hit the wood with a high-five motion. Jaxton went first. On his first hit, he immediately broke the wood board. He was stunned that he broke it, thinking he had done something bad and looked super worried for a brief moment till the instructor applauded him for his strength! Cooper followed suit and hit his board, breaking ti twice on two separate hits. He signed their boards and they got to take them home with them for suveniers. What fun!!They had so much fun that I think we may look into doing it some more in the fall.
