We have grass?

So Springtime came and went and our busy lives didn't allow us to get grass in before the warm summer days to play outside. So we endured a full summer of dirt and mud. Here it is fall time and we are ready to get grass!!! Nate was able to make a "barter" with a sod farm in Indiana. He gave them a security alarm system for a truckload of sod! So that truckload came and Nate got to work laying it, piece by piece. It was a whole lot of work! But when Nate gets his mind on something, he doesn't stop until its finished. He worked all day, with just a little help. Then he worked all evening. It started to rain, and he still didn't stop. It got dark and continued to rain, and he still didn't stop until it was all laid!! What a trooper!! I love that quality about him. Here he is laying the first piece of grass!!
Partially done...
Final results: We have grass!!! Oh we've been looking forward to this day for 2 or three years to have our own yard of lush green grass in a private backyard! And here it is! Here are the kids enjoying their new grassy backyard!!
Kaylee has seen very little grass in her entire life. She may have seen it a little bit at a park here or there this past summer, but she was little. So this new green stuff she had to sit in was very intriguing to her. She kept touching it gently with her little fingertips, watching it around her feet and ankles, not sure if she should try to crawl through it, or just stay put...? Cute girl! It reminds me of Jaxton as a baby. When I put him down on grass, he would lift up one leg because he didn't like the feel of it on his bare skin. He would sit there with his hands in the air and one leg up in the air too. So funny!!

We are so grateful to have grass!! Thank you Daddy for all your hard work to get us grass!
