As tradition would have it, we went out to the fields and did some strawberry picking as soon as the strawberries were ready this year! It's something the boys love doing because they get to eat strawberries all along the way! And its something I love to do so I can make up some yummy strawberry freezer jam to enjoy all year round. Homemade freezer jam beats any store bought brand around! We went with some friends from church, Ginny and her two boys Bruce and Henry. They had never been strawberry picking before and as you can tell from that darling red face, Henry loves strawberries!! So here we are, the boys with buckets in hand. Kaylee was in the baby carrier on my chest and we picked as many berries as we could! Yum!!

I remember those days as a kid. We always had strawberries in our garden. A pretty nice patch...just enough for us and a few more to sell or give away. LOVE FRESH STRAWBERRIES!
