Cub Scouts Birds 4/12

The Cub Scouts had to learn about birds in Indiana. I felt pretty in adequate to teach that topic and researched others in town that could teach it better than me. I came across this raptor rescue group who was willing to bring live birds to our Cub Scouts meeting and demonstrate and teach about the different kinds of birds in the area. They also talked about the rescue efforts and they were all volunteers. We are rounding up donations to support their organization. It was such a fun time. We saw an owl, a hawk, a miniature owl and a couple others. We got to feel real bird feet and feathers. So much fun. Afterwords the boys were able to build bird houses to hang outside.
